Emilia Gertrude Eberle (today Trudy Kollar ) (born March 4, 1964 in Arad , Arad District , People's Republic of Romania ) is a former Romanian gymnast of Danube Swabian origin.

Career

Emilia Eberle joined the Romanian national team in Deva at the age of twelve . At the 1979 World Championships in Fort Worth, she won gold in the team competition and the device final on the floor , as well as the bronze medal on the uneven bars. In 1978 she won silver with the team at the World Championships in Strasbourg and bronze in three device finals (balance beam, floor and uneven bars). At the European Championships in Copenhagen in 1979 , she won silver behind Nadia Comăneci in the all-around, as well as on the uneven bars and balance beam.

At the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow she won silver with the team (with a grade of 10 on the uneven bars in qualification) and on the uneven bars. After retiring in 1983, she worked in the Arad watch factory for six years. She fled to Hungary in May 1989 and currently lives with her husband, former judoka Frank Kollar, and their son in Sacramento , California .
