Emilie Turunen

Emilie Turunen (born May 13, 1984 in Copenhagen , Denmark ) is a Danish politician of the Social Democrats and has been a member of the European Parliament since 2009 . On March 20, 2013 she converted from the Socialist People's Party (SF).

Turunen studied social science at the University of Roskilde and obtained a bachelor's degree in 2009 . During her studies Turunen was also politically active and became a member of the People's Socialist Party. She headed their youth organization SFU from 2008 to 2009. Since the 2009 European elections is Turunen deputies in the European Parliament where she joined the group Progressive Alliance of Socialists belongs. Turunen lives in Copenhagen with her partner .

Turunen is a member of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection and the Delegation for relations with the countries of Southeast Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). As a deputy she is in the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs of and Delegation for relations with Iran.
