Emilio Knechtle

Emilio Knechtle (born May 17, 1922 in Switzerland ; † March 16, 2006 in New Canaan , Connecticut) was an Adventist revival preacher from Switzerland .

Life

He was born in Switzerland in 1922. His father was a Catholic and his mother an Adventist. He later emigrated to the United States with the aim of becoming a successful businessman and making lots of money.

During a vacation stay in the Dominican Republic, where he had a conversion experience, he became a professed Christian. He was then trained as a missionary and revival preacher by the American preacher Billy Graham, among others . After he was leader of the Presbyterian Church in New York, he became an Adventist himself because of a visit by a Swiss Adventist. Knechtle was shaped by encounters with important revival preachers such as Bill Gothard and Billy Graham.

In addition, Knechtle was also active as an author and published various books, including The gospel of Jesus Christ and Christ's Message to the Last Generation . He also left behind Bible study materials and numerous recordings of his sermons.

Emilio Knechtle was married and had six children. He died on March 16, 2006 in New Canaan (Connecticut, USA).
