Emiya-sanchi no Kyō no Gohan ( Japanese 衛 宮 さ ん ち の 今日 の ご は ん ) is a manga series by TAa that has been published in Japan since 2016. It is an offshoot of the games and anime franchise Fate / stay night and was implemented as an anime series in 2018 . The anime was also released internationally and in German as Today's Menu for Emiya Family . The short stories transport the characters from the fantasy events of the game series into everyday Japanese life, where the protagonist Shirō Emiya prepares a different dish for them every evening. The series falls into the comedy and gourmet genres.

The student Shirō Emiya lives a peaceful life after the events of Fate / stay night with family and friends, the masters and servants of the past fight, in Fuyuki City. Every evening Shirō brings a delicious dish to the table with his culinary skills that are valued by all - for Saber and Taiga or for the other friends who keep coming back to visit. He cooks the right dishes with the right ingredients for the respective season or for festivities. The preparation is shown and described in detail.

In addition to TAa , who implemented the manga based on the game characters from Type-Moon , Makoto Tadano was also involved in the creation as a consultant for the dishes shown. The manga has been published by Kadokawa Shoten in Young Ace Up magazine since January 2016 . The chapters have also been published in three edited volumes so far. After the anime implementation began in early 2018, the second volume in the series sold almost 170,000 times in the first five weeks.

An English version has been licensed from Denpa. Kadokawa himself brings the series out in Taiwan.

Anime series

A 13-part anime series was created at Studio Ufotable for 2018 . Directed by Takahiro Miura and Tetsuto Satō , the scripts were written by Hikaru Kondō and Yū Takanaka . The character design was created by Tōko Uchimura and the artistic direction was with Kazuo Ebisawa .

The 13-minute episodes were published on the AbemaTV platform as a webanime on the 1st of each month from January 25, 2018 . The first episode was shown in advance in December 2017 as part of the “Fate Project Ōmisoka TV Special 2017”. The last episode came out on January 1, 2019. The episodes were later released on DVD and BluRay in Japan. A version with German subtitles was published by Wakanim via streaming, the anime with English subtitles was released by Crunchyroll .

The music in the series was composed by Gō Shiina . The opening credits are underlaid with the song Apron Boy ( エ プ ロ ン ボ ー イ Epuron Bōi ) by hip-hop singer DJ Misoshiru to MC Gohan, the closing song is collage ( コ ラ ー ジ ュ Korāju ) by the pop band Sangatsu no Phantasia.
