Emma Brogle

Emma Brogle-Sele (* 13. October 1934 in Vaduz as Emma Sele ) is a Liechtenstein politician.

Emma Brogle-Sele was born in 1934 as the daughter of the trade unionist Josef Sele and his wife Bertha (née Kindle). She grew up with two sisters and did an apprenticeship as a saleswoman. She later moved abroad. She got married in Switzerland. After the death of her husband in 1966, she returned to Liechtenstein with her two sons.

Like her father, Emma Brogle was also politically active. As a member of the Patriotic Union , she campaigned for women's suffrage . In 1982 Brogle became the founding president of the Women's Union. She held this office for the next eight years. In 1983 she was the first woman to be elected to the Vaduz municipal council. In addition to the Gamprin municipal councilors Maria Marxer and Elsa Oehri, she was one of the first women on a Liechtenstein municipal council. From 1987 to 1991 Brogle was Vice Mayor of Vaduz. In addition to her work in local politics, she was also active in state politics. From 1986 to 1989 she was a deputy member of the state parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein . In this role she was a member of the Liechtenstein parliamentary delegation to the Council of Europe .

In 1991, Prince Hans-Adam II awarded her the Knight's Cross of the Princely Liechtenstein Order of Merit .
