Emmanuel Mayuka (born November 21, 1990 in Kabwe ) is a Zambian football player . The striker has been under contract with Zamalek SC in the Egyptian Premier League since 2016 and plays for the Zambian national team .
Career
society
Mayuka played in the first team of the Kabwe Warriors , a team in the Zambian Premier League , from 2007 to 2008 . In his first season in the league he scored a total of six goals and nine more in the cup competitions, including all three goals in the 3-1 victory in the final of the BP Top 8 Cup against the Nakambala Leopards . In the summer of 2008 he moved to Israel to Maccabi Tel Aviv for the 2008/09 season . There he won the Israeli League Cup in February 2009 . In April 2010, Mayuka signed a contract until 2014.
On May 28, 2010 it was announced that Mayuka has signed a five-year contract with BSC Young Boys . In the Young Boys he was to serve as a replacement for two-time Swiss top scorer Seydou Doumbia , who moved to CSKA Moscow . In August 2012, he moved to the English first division promoted FC Southampton . There he still has a contract until 2017, but was loaned to the French first division club FC Sochaux for the 2013/14 season.
For the 2015/16 season Mayuka moved to FC Metz in Ligue 2 .
National team
In 2007 Mayuka took part with the Zambian U20 national team at the 2007 Junior World Cup in Canada. As the youngest player on his team, he was in the starting line-up in all four games in his country. As one of only two players in his team, he was singled out by the Technical Commission, which wrote about the then 16-year-old: "agile, fast-paced midfielder, good dribbling skills with a lot of running" .
In September 2007 he was appointed to the Zambian senior team by Patrick Phiri and made his debut in the 2007 COSAFA Cup in the semi-finals against Mozambique. He managed the goal to make it 2-0 (final score 3-0). Mayuka was also part of the Chipolopolo squad for the Africa Cup of 2008 in Ghana, making it the youngest participant in the tournament. At the Africa Cup of 2012 he caused a sensation with Zambia and his team won the final against Ivory Coast on penalties. He became the tournament's top scorer with three goals.
