Emmanuel Saina Kipkemboi (born September 6, 1992 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner .

Athletic career

Saina did not appear internationally until 2018; previously, a total of three results achieved in his home country from 2015 and 2016 were recorded in the IAAF database .

In April 2018, Saina finished second in the half marathon in Berkane, Morocco, with a time of 1:02:03 h. On September 23, Saina made his marathon debut at the Buenos Aires Marathon in 2:05:21 h. Originally planned as a pacemaker up to the 30-kilometer mark, he decided to run the full distance before the race and finally won with a faster second half (1:02:29 h) with almost four minutes ahead of his compatriot Barnabas Kiptum . He clearly undercut the old course record (2:09:46 h) and also achieved the fastest marathon time ever run in South America.

In January 2019, Saina finished fourth in the Dubai Marathon after 2:05:02 hours. For the third time under 2:06 h, he finished third in the Rotterdam Marathon in 2:05:42 h in early April .

Saina is managed by the Italian Federico Rosa.
