Emmerich Wenger

Emmerich Wenger (born October 5, 1902 in Vienna ; † January 23, 1973 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Wenger was a member of the Lower Austrian regional parliament and from 1957 to 1966 a regional councilor in the Lower Austrian regional government .

Wenger attended elementary, secondary and commercial school before joining the Vienna community in 1923 . He was imprisoned in Dachau concentration camp in 1938 and drafted into the Wehrmacht from there in 1944. Wenger returned from Soviet captivity in 1947 and subsequently took over the office of state secretary of the ÖGB Lower Austria. Wenger represented the SPÖ from November 5, 1949 to June 15, 1960 in the Lower Austrian state parliament and held the office of regional council from October 24, 1957 to May 9, 1966.
