The red wine variety Lambrusco a Foglia Frastagliata is an autochthonous variety from northern Italy - Trentino .
Known in antiquity under the name Oenanthium (already mentioned in the Naturalis historia by the Roman historian Pliny the Elder ).
It is used in wines from the DOC zones Casteller and Valdadige and in table wines .
Wine
The late-ripening vine produces brightly colored, acidic red wines for quick enjoyment.
distribution
The variety is grown in the regions of Trentino and Veneto and is permitted in wines of the DOC areas Casteller, Trentino, Valdadige and Valdadige Terradeiforti. The cultivation area in Italy totaled 724 ha in 2010 with a downward trend (ten years earlier it was 1,024 ha).
