Enderal - The Rubble of Order , or just Enderal , is a total conversion for the role-playing game Skyrim , which was published on July 3, 2016, initially in German and on August 14 of the same year in English . A separate world with its own story and set characters was created. The playing time should be around 30 to 100 hours.

An add-on called Enderal: Forgotten Stories was released on February 14, 2019 . This improves various aspects of the game and adds additional content and thus offers an additional playing time of 10 to 20 hours.

development

Planning for Enderal began a few months before Skyrim was released under the code name "Project 5". Enderal was officially announced in June 2012.

Enderal was developed by a team of amateur programmers within the SureAI development studio under the direction of Nicolas Samuel Lietzau. In addition to volunteer developers and designers, professional speakers were also involved in the production - including Till Hagen , Annina Braunmiller-Jest and Bernd Vollbrecht - who set a total of around 50 hours of dialogues to music free of charge. The development time was around 30,000 person hours . The mod's budget was around 27,000 euros, which was mainly used for server costs.

reception

GameStar magazine rated Enderal 87 out of 100 points and stated that the mod could keep up with AAA games in terms of size . The IT online magazine ComputerBase also wrote that Enderal could “keep up in the league of full price titles”. The Münchner Merkur reported positively about Enderal: "Sure Al, the small hobbyists team from Starnberg, has managed what multibillion dollar businesses fail: Telling a challenging, interesting story."

Enderal was named “ Best Fan Creation” at the Game Awards 2016 and is nominated in the “Fan Creation of the Year” category at the SXSW Gaming Awards.

On Enderal: Forgotten Stories, GameStar commented that it made the total conversion “even bigger, more exciting and more motivating than before”. "The result is a kind of» Director's Cut «by Enderal, which rounds off the already fantastic main story."
