Endre Kovács (organist)

Endre Kovács (born June 5, 1936 in Budapest ; † April 3, 2015 there ) was a Hungarian organist , concert organizer and concert dramaturge.

Career and professional activity

Kovács studied with Aladár Zalánfy and Ferenc Gergely. In 1964 and 1965 he attended master classes at the international organ festival in Haarlem with Anton Heiller , Cor Kee , Siegfried Reda , Marie-Claire Alain and Gustav Leonhardt . Endre Kovacs gave numerous concerts in Europe. Some were also recorded by broadcasters. He was the first organist at the Reformed Church in Josefstadt, 8th district in Budapest. In addition, from 1991 to 1996 he was artistic deputy director of the National Philharmonic in Budapest.

Award

His record with works by Franz Liszt won the Grand Prix in Paris and Budapest (1976).
