The Energie-Atlas Bayern is the central internet portal of the Bavarian state government for energy saving , energy efficiency and renewable energies . It is being developed under the leadership of the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology . The portal provides numerous information for citizens, municipalities, authorities, businesses and planners free of charge in the form of closely interlinked, interactive maps and texts.

The maps of the Energy Atlas Bavaria show regional and local stocks and potentials of renewable energies on the basis of official and other maps as well as aerial and satellite images. For the whole of Bavaria, for a region or for a place, they provide information e.g. B. about EEG systems, potential for future systems and other planning principles. For this purpose, over 100 databases and data sources were processed or created. The energy atlas is continuously supplemented and updated with additional data.

The text section of the Bavarian Energy Atlas offers information and practical help on the subject of energy for citizens, municipalities and companies, from background knowledge to savings and modernization tips to contact persons on site. In addition, a separate section with a wide range of information such as basics, practical examples in Bavaria and funding tips is provided for each of the major forms of renewable energy.

The Energy Atlas Bavaria is implemented by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment (technical implementation) and the State Office for Digitization, Broadband and Measurement (technical implementation).

The Energy Atlas received the 3rd prize in the Bavarian eGovernment competition in 2011 and was awarded the audience prize in the nationwide eGovernment competition in 2012.
