Energy advice

Energy consulting is a service with advisory information and analyzes on the topics of generation, storage, transport, provision, consumption, use, saving, conversion and recovery of energy under ecological and economic aspects.

In structural engineering, with the requirements of the Thermal Insulation Ordinance and, since 2002, with the Energy Saving Ordinance, energy advice has become increasingly necessary in order to develop suitable concepts for thermal insulation and energy saving .

In order to promote the energetic renovation of residential buildings, the Federal Ministry of Economics started the program “ Energy saving advice on site ”. During the on-site consultation for residential buildings that were built before January 1, 1984, the building is first examined and, based on this, suggestions for sensible renovation measures are submitted. It supports the owner in his decision on renovation measures and represents a preparation for applying for many funding programs (e.g. the KfW CO ₂ building renovation program). Since December 1, 2017, the individual renovation schedule has been available as a result and proof of advice in On-site consultation funding program provides a comprehensive overview of the long-term renovation measures in a building. The advice is carried out by energy consultants specially approved by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) . Lists of energy advisors can be found e.g. B. on the BAFA website.

In addition, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy has been promoting energy advice to consumer centers since 1978. The energy advisors of the consumer centers answer nationwide in eight advice offers (telephone advice, online advice, stationary advice, basic check, building check, heating check, solar heat check and detailed check) neutral and provider-independent questions about energy saving and the use of renewable energies in Private households.
