Engelbert Neyer

Engelbert Neyer , actually: Johann Josef Engelbert Neyer , (born November 13, 1880 in Tschagguns ; † May 2, 1957 in Schruns ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP ), farmer, trader and operator of a delicatessen store. From 1923 to 1928 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament and deputy mayor of Schruns.

education and profession

Engelbert Neyer graduated from elementary school in his hometown Tschagguns and worked as a farmer. He also operated a trade in agricultural products and a milk trade and subsequently ran a delicatessen store in Schruns.

Politics and functions

Neyer was a member of the Christian Social Party and active in local politics as Vice Mayor of the Schruns community. Neyer ran for the Christian Social Party in the Bludenz constituency in the 1923 state elections and was sworn in as a member of the Bludenz constituency or representative of the Christian Social Party in the Vorarlberg state parliament on November 6th. He was a member of the state parliament until the end of the legislative period on April 1, 1928. Furthermore, Neyer was a member of the medical committee of the Vorarlberg state parliament.

Neyer was a member of the Montafon War and Comradeship Association and worked there as secretary and ensign. He was also involved as a member of the Austrian Economic Association and in 1945 took over the role of district chairman of the Montafon. He was also active as a member of the Gantschier volunteer fire brigade and held the function of fire department command. In addition, Neyer was a member of the Schruns Church Council in 1942.

Private

Engelbert Neyer was the son of the farmer couple Josef Anton Aurel Neyer (1838-1893) and Anna Maria Neyer (* 1851), née Schappler, both of whom were born in Tschagguns. Engelbert Neyer married Seraphina Neyer (1854–1920) on April 19, 1909 in Bartholomäberg . After the death of his first wife, he married the Montafon costume embroiderer Maria Magdalena Sander (1882–1955) in Bregenz on January 17, 1921 . Neyer was the father of an adopted son.
