Engelbert Obernosterer

Engelbert Obernosterer (born December 28, 1936 in Sankt Lorenzen im Lesachtal , Carinthia ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Engelbert Obernosterer was the youngest of seven children of a mountain farmer. He attended the Tanzenberg boarding school near Klagenfurt . After studying German and history in Vienna , he worked as an elementary and secondary school teacher from 1965 and as an AHS art teacher in Hermagor in Gailtal from 1975 .

In 1974 he received the Carinthian Prize for Literature , and in 1977 the Austrian State Scholarship for Literature. In 1975 his homeland novel “Ortsbestetermination” (Vienna-Munich) was published, in 1980 the short stories “The vertical kilometer” contain “Studies on country life” - which deal critically with the side effects of tourism and were also implemented in film scenes - in 1988 “Am Zaun der Welt ", 1990 the novel" The management of Mr. R.
