Engelhard Ostermoor

Engelhard Ostermoor (born February 28, 1865 in Wittmund ; † November 6, 1931 in Dillenburg ) was a theologian and church founder of the Association of Free Evangelical Congregations .

biography

Since 1891 Ostermoor worked as an employee of the federal publishing house and the Free Evangelical Congregation in Witten . In 1897 he moved to Berlin to work as an independent bookseller in Berlin-Charlottenburg . At the same time he founded the Free Evangelical Congregation in Berlin-Moabit , which was accepted into the Federation of Free Evangelical Congregations as early as 1903. It was also Ostermoor who gave the impetus to set up other communities in the Berlin area and in Pomerania . In the "gardener" from 1931 he was characterized as a "prophetic awakening". In October 1930 he was called as a preacher in Dillenburg , where he also died a year later.
