Engelsfreude is a disused treasure trove in the Johanngeorgenstadt mountain area in the Saxon Ore Mountains .

history

The pit was recorded after the Catharina Fundgrube on Fastenberg had found what it was looking for and muted by Christian Tippner in March 1708 . It was located near the Eibenstocker Straße from Johanngeorgenstadt to Steinbach, not far from the Grenzlandbaude opened in 1933 . Neighboring pits were Christmas presents , Sophia and Silberne Höhe . The pit did not have its own hut house, but only a chew , which is shown on a pit plan from 1739 , among other things .

In 1709 Johann Gabriel Löbel was the supporter of the Engelsfreuder treasure trove . Since no silver was found, the merger with the Silberne Höhe treasure trove took place as early as 1720 (opposite the later Grenzlandbaude). The combined treasure trove of Silberne Höhe including Engelsfreude only existed until 1734 and then merged into the Kaiser-Joseph treasure trove . The day shaft of this pit was located directly in front of the pass at Eibenstocker Strasse.

Further mining work in this mine field was carried out in the 19th century until 1945 by the Wildermann Fundgrube .
