Apart from the absence of guitarist and singer Jeremy Taylor and the subsequent entry of Keeley Davis in 1998, the line-up remained largely the same.
In 2005 the band finally broke up. The musicians then continued to play in other projects. Thus came Keeley Davis to the post-hardcore band Sparta , Cornbread Compton about played among others as a drummer in Biology on.
style
In the past, based on the sound of emo and post-hardcore bands, the band began to play their very own, rather calm sound, which was increasingly influenced by emo indie rock sounds.
The label Lovitt Records says about the band's sound:
“Engine Down's sound has matured into a force not content with the now tired boundaries of hardcore or 'emo'. Rather, Engine Down continue to hone their craft, surprising listeners with unexpected instruments and song structures ”
