Enrico Fulchignoni
Enrico Fulchignoni (born September 18, 1913 in Messina , † August 28, 1988 in Paris ) was an Italian documentary filmmaker and screenwriter .
Life
Fulchignoni studied medicine and after some time switched to journalism as a lecturer . He wrote for "Bianco e Nero"; in addition, he staged at the theater from 1937. After working in his hometown, he went to Florence in 1939 . He worked for the cinema from 1942 as a documentary filmmaker, in which year he also shot his only feature film, Lord Byron's drama I due Foscari, which has been filmed several times . His main focus, however, was the theater. After the Second World War he wrote two scripts for other directors and switched to short films . In 1950 he moved to France after having been appointed President of UNESCO's CICT . The organization's prize, which has been awarded annually at the Biennale since 1990, is named after him.
