Enrico Pau

Enrico Pau (* 1956 in Cagliari ) is an Italian film director .

Life

Paul graduated with a degree in literature and worked as a research assistant. In the 1980s he worked for the regional broadcaster RAI Cagliari, for which he worked as an author with Aldo Tanchis . A number of short films were also made. In 1996 La volpe e l'ape won the first prize at the “Festival Visioni Italiani” in Bologna and Pau the prize for best director at the “Festival of Siena”. In 1998 he directed the musical work The Ugly Duckling with Maria Pia De Vito . In 2001 he made his feature film debut, The Story of a Boxer Rivalry, Pesi leggeri ; his own documentary Storie di pugili had given him the idea. This was followed in 2006 by Jimmy della collina , a work on the disadvantages of social origin based on a story by Massimo Carlotto , which was awarded the Locarno Film Festival Prize.
