The Entiat Mountains or Entiat Range are a mountain range in the US state of Washington . It is west of the Columbia River , north of the Wenatchee River and south of the Entiat River ; they are part of the Northern Cascade Mountains , part of the Cascade Range . The Entiat Mountains are less in the east-west than in the north-south direction. The Entiat River Valley separates them from the Chelan Mountains in the northeast. To the east and south, across the Wenatchee River and its tributaries such as the Chiwawa River, lie the Wenatchee Mountains .
The Entiat Mountains extend south of the Columbia River between the mouths of the Entiat and Wenatchee Rivers. Its northern end connects it with the northern end of the Chelan Mountains. Most of the mountain range is in the Wenatchee National Forest . The north end is part of the Glacier Peak Wilderness .
history
The name is derived from the Entiat tribe . A large number of prominent points including many mountains were named by Albert H. Sylvester .
In July 2014, several of the Washington wildfires raged in the Entiat Mountains, including the Mills Canyon Fire and the Kelly Mountain Fire .

The Entiat Mountains can be divided into a (higher) northern and a (less high) southern part. In the north, the mountains are all over 2,400 meters high, the three highest over 2,700 m, while the southern part is without exception below 2,100 meters.
