controversy

In 2013, the journal published a review by Anthony Samsel (according to his own account scientist and consultant at Anthony Samsel Environmental and Public Health Services , formerly consultant with Arthur D. Little ) and Stefanie Senneff (Senior Research Scientist at MIT ) on the dangers of the plant protection product glyphosate . The authors state that glyphosate is possibly the leading cause of the spread of a number of diseases. Influence possibilities were mentioned for obesity , depression , ADHD , autism , Alzheimer's disease , Parkinson's disease , multiple sclerosis , cancer and infertility . In the article, the authors refer to statements from other studies, including those that are controversial. The Reuters news agency uncritically reproduced the content of the study, as did Goldman Steff from the Goldman Environmental Prize . Other commentators criticized the study, calling it pseudoscience , as Keith Kloor wrote on his blog for popular science magazine Discover .
