location

history

Enzersdorf, mentioned for the first time in 1312 in the third Duke Surbar, had the status of a closed Hofmark without its own seat in 1558 and thereafter . The Schwarzensteiners of Schloss Englburg exercised lower jurisdiction here. When after 1600 Christoph von Nussdorf zu Tittling took over the inheritance on the basis of the will of his wife, a née Schwarzenstein zu Englburg, this will was successfully challenged in 1625 by the Taufkircheners, now gentlemen of the Englburg. Then the rule of the Hofmark belonged again to the owners of the Hofmark Englburg until the 19th century. After that, Enzersdorf came to Witzmannsberg in the course of community formation.
