The Enzianhütte is a refuge in the Lower Austrian municipality of Muggendorf and directly on the municipality border with Furth an der Triesting . It stands on the summit of the Kieneck at an altitude of 1106 m above sea level. A. and is operated by the Austrian Alpine Club .
The hut is a base on several national long-distance hiking trails ( Voralpenweg , Wiener Mariazellerweg ) and some regional hiking trails (Waldmarkweg, Piestingtaler Rundwanderweg).
history
The refuge was built by the Alpine Society "Enzian", founded in 1889, and opened on July 4th, 1897. The first expansion took place in 1904 and the Enzianhütte was enlarged again in the early 1920s. In 1912, the Alpine Society joined the German and Austrian Alpine Association as a section . In 2009 the connection of the energy and water supply as well as the sewage disposal of the hut to the public network took place via a 3.5 km long route.
