Enzo Doria

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Enzo Doria (actually Ezio Passadore , born March 12, 1936 in Genoa ) is an Italian filmmaker.

Life

Doria attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and graduated from it in 1960 in the field of drama, but has been seen in a few film roles since 1957. Since his acting career was not progressing well, Doria began to produce herself after some experience as a production secretary. With his company "Doria Cinematografica" he financed several important productions by young directors from 1965 and was thus involved in the renewal of the Italian cinema landscape through artists such as Marco Bellocchio , Liliana Cavani and Salvatore Samperi .

With the beginning of the 1970s, Doria turned to more commercial films, some of which were big box office hits, but some were artistically worthless mass-produced goods. Several times he also took over the direction himself; these works did not make a great impression.

Doria is married to the set designer Gisella Longo . His son Alessandro Doria is an actor.
