Enzo Muzii

Enzo Muzii (born January 13, 1926 in Asmara , Eritrea , † February 2, 2014 in Velletri ) was an Italian film director , writer and photographer .

Life

Muzii graduated in law and from 1949 initially devoted himself to a job as a journalist; Among other things, he wrote cinema reviews for the Roman editorial team of L'Unità . In 1961 and the following year he worked as a screenwriter and director for two joint films with Cesare Zavattini . An excellent portrait, Visto e perso , appeared in 1967 about his work as a professional photographer , which he began in 1963 . In 1968 Muzii returned to the director's chair for Come l'amore , who was awarded the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival; the following year he shot a work reminiscent of Michelangelo Antonioni's style, which processed his experiences as a photographer: Una macchia rosa . From the mid-1970s he worked exclusively for television; a number of films were made in the Alle origine della Mafia series , which traced the history of the organization from 1556 to 1876, and sophisticated adaptations of his own scripts.

In 1990 his story Punto di non ritorno appeared ; followed Silenzio, si vive (2003), Fuori dai giochi (2005) and Il tempo parlerà (2006).
