Epithelantha micromeris is a species of plant in the genus Epithelantha from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The epithet of the species is derived from the Greek words μικρός mikros for "small" and μηρός meros for "part" and refers to the numerous small, radiant thorns of the species.

Epithelantha micromeris grows solitary or sprouting. The plant bodies reach a diameter of up to 6 centimeters. 20 to 26 differently shaped and 1 to 2 millimeter long spines arise from the 1 to 4 millimeter long warts standing in spiral rows .

The whitish to pink flowers are 3 to 10 millimeters in diameter. The fruits are 8 to 12 millimeters long.

Systematics, distribution and endangerment

Epithelantha micromeris is distributed in the US states of Arizona , New Mexico and Texas as well as in northern and northern central Mexico , where it grows on limestone rubble. The first description as Mammillaria micromeris was published in 1856 by George Engelmann . Frédéric Albert Constantin Weber placed it in 1898 in the genus Epithelantha, which he created .

Epithelantha micromeris is in the endangered Red List species the IUCN as " Least Concern (LC) ", d. H. classified as not endangered in nature.
