Erhard Neubert

Erhard Neubert (born November 17, 1905 in Dresden ; † April 4, 1984 ) was a German KPD functionary and SED functionary. He was chairman of the Dresden District Party Control Commission of the SED.

Life

Neubert was born into a working class family. After attending elementary school , he attended technical college and completed an apprenticeship as a belt maker . In 1920 he co-founded the KJVD in Dresden. Neubert joined the KPD in 1923.

After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists in 1933, Neubert took part in the resistance . He was political leader of the illegal KPD Dresden-Süd and was imprisoned for years.

In 1945 he became the district mayor of Dresden-Leutewitz . In 1946 he became a member of the SED. From 1947 to 1949 he headed the Central Office at the City Council of Dresden. From 1949 to 1954 he was operations manager of the municipal business enterprise horticulture and landscape design in Dresden. From 1954 to 1956 he was a member of the Dresden District Council and head of the Internal Affairs Department. In 1956/57 he studied at the party college "Karl Marx" and then acted from 1958 to 1960 as chairman of the council of the Meissen district . In 1960 he was chairman of the city party control commission of the SED Dresden and from 1961 to 1971 chairman of the district party control commission as well as a member of the SED district leadership in Dresden and its office and secretariat.
