Erhard Steinert

Erhard Steinert (born January 10, 1952 in Eppendorf ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former member of the Saxon state parliament (1994-2004).

Life

After graduating from high school, Erhard Steinert trained as a fitter from 1966 to 1970. From 1970 to 1974 he studied chemistry at the Bergakademie Freiberg with a degree in chemistry in 1974. Between 1974 and 1979 he worked as a research assistant at the Research Institute for Leather and Plastic Sheets Freiberg (FILK). From 1979 to 1986 Steinert was group leader for information and documentation there and from 1986 to 1990 its department head.

From 1990 to 1994 Erhard Steinert was mayor of the municipality of Halsbrücke , ended by a municipality merger. Afterwards he had a fixed-term employment contract as managing director of the wastewater association Muldental.

Steinert is Catholic, married and has four children.

Erhard Steinert has been a member of the CDU since 1976, but without any functions. From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the Halsbrücke local council and a member of the Freiberg district council. Steinert was also the chairman of the advisory board of the non-profit educational company in Halsbrücke.

In October 1994 Steinert was elected to the Saxon state parliament via constituency 20 ( Freiberg 2 ) with 54.2% of the votes. There he was a member of the Committee on Social Affairs, Health, Family and Women. In the following third electoral period he was also elected from constituency 20 (Freiberg 2), receiving 54.1% of the vote. He was a member of the Committee on Social Affairs, Health, Family, Women and Youth. On May 31, 2004, Steinert resigned his mandate and left the state parliament.
