Eric Anderson (born December 7, 1931 in Manchester , † March 1990 in Salford ) was an English football player .

The striker Anderson was best known as a player for Liverpool FC, which he joined in 1951 at the age of 20. His debut in the team of the then first division , he gave in March 1953. In the following season Anderson could not establish himself in the first team of the club, which was relegated to the second division in 1954 . It was only used regularly after the descent. After about two and a half years with regular seasons, he was replaced by the young Jimmy Melia . In July 1957 Anderson left the club and moved to Barnsley FC . After he had turned down a move to Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic , he ended his professional career and played in the 1959/60 season at Macclesfield Town in the Cheshire County League , in the 2-1 victory in the final of the Cheshire Senior Cup against his future club Hyde United he scored a goal. A year later he was also with Hyde in the final of the Cheshire Senior Cup, in his last game for the club the game ended in a goalless draw, in the lost replay he was not used.
