Eric Coy

Eric Eaton Coy (born May 16, 1914 in Nottingham , United Kingdom , † October 28, 1985 in Winnipeg ) was a Canadian discus thrower and shot putter .

At the British Empire Games in Sydney in 1938 , he won gold in the discus throw and silver in the shot put.

In 1948 he retired in both disciplines at the Olympic Games in London in qualification. At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver in 1954 , he finished ninth in the shot put.

He was Canadian champion in the shot put four times (1938, 1940, 1948, 1949) and twice in discus throw (1938, 1948) and javelin throw (1935, 1938).
