Eric Eichmann (born May 7, 1965 in Margate , Florida ) is a former American football striker.

Career

He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and, after playing football at Clemson University from 1983 to 1987 , came to Werder Bremen in Germany at the age of 22 , where he was only used in the second team. In 1988 he moved back to the USA and played for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in the American Soccer League and American Professional Soccer League.

From 1992 to 1995 he worked for several indoor soccer clubs. With the establishment of Major League Soccer , he played one season for the Kansas City Wizards in 1996 .

His first international match was against Canada on February 5, 1986. Eichmann was in the World Cup squad for the 1990 World Cup in Italy. He was also part of the team in 1988 that represented the USA at the Summer Olympics . He also played in the Futsal World Cup in 1989 and 1992.

After retiring from his career, he was assistant coach for the Major League Soccer team Miami Fusion from 2000 to 2002 . Eichmann is Director of Coaching and Player Development at the youth club Boca United.
