Eric Groeleken (born March 3, 1966 in Enschede ) is a former Dutch football player .
Career
The center forward Eric Groeleken started with the amateur club SV Vosta in Enschede and later moved to the youth department of FC Twente . On October 6, 1985, he made his professional debut playing against the Go Ahead Eagles Deventer . During the 1987/88 season Groelekan was awarded to Deventer before he moved to FC Groningen in the summer of 1988 for a transfer fee of 150,000 guilders . With Groningen he reached the final of the KNVB Cup in 1989 , which his team lost 4-1 to PSV Eindhoven . In the early 1990s, Groeleken was awarded to the Maccabi Haifa and NEC Nijmegen clubs .
In 1991 Groeleken moved to Germany and joined Preußen Münster . The Münsteraner had just relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga to the Oberliga Westfalen . With the Prussians he became champions in both 1992 and 1993, but failed in the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga, first at Wuppertaler SV and then Rot-Weiss Essen . Then Groeleken switched to league rivals TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus in 1993 and celebrated his third championship in a row. In the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga, however, the Paderborn failed to Fortuna Düsseldorf , so that Groelekens team continued to play in the Regionalliga West / Südwest .
For the season 1995/96 season Groeleken moved to the second division promoted Arminia Bielefeld . Since he rarely played at Arminia, Groeleken switched to league rivals SG Wattenscheid 09 during the winter break , but could not prevent his new team from relegating. In the following years, Groeleken changed clubs every year. Via the Austrian second division club FC Linz he went to the second division of France, where he was active for FC Gueugnon and AS Beauvais . In the 2000/01 season he played in Venezuela for FC Caracas before returning to Germany and ending his career with the amateur clubs 1. FC Wernigerode and Hövelhofer SV .
