Eric Kyle Szmanda (born July 24, 1975 in Milwaukee , Wisconsin ) is an American actor .

biography

Szmanda grew up with his brothers Rob and Brett in the small town of Mukwonago , where he graduated from high school in 1993 . He then attended Caroll College in Wisconsin. He quickly realized that he wanted to be an actor, as he did a lot of theater in his school days . He embodied the character of Lysander in a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream by Shakespeare .

When he returned to Los Angeles , he appeared on the premiere of Black Box . In 1998 he played his first leading role as Jacob Resh in the series Das Netz - Todesfalle Internet , which is based on the film of the same name . When the series was canceled, Szmanda decided to concentrate fully on his acting career. He soon got the lead role of Johnny Dodge in Dodge's City . However, the show did not lead to great success, so he continued to take on smaller roles. In 2000 he got the role of laboratory assistant Greg Sanders in the CBS hit series CSI: On the Trail of the Criminals . With increasing success, he received regular appearances on the series. From the third season, Szmanda was accepted into the ranks of the leading actors and also rose in the series from laboratory assistant to real CSI level 1. In 2004 he played the cop Derek in Tom Zuber's film Little Athens and in 2005 he appeared in Hyenas in Hollywood .

Szmanda has a production company called Doop that brings music and drama together. As a fan of Marilyn Manson's music , he made a guest appearance in his music video (s) AINT .
