Hyenas (Alternative title: Devil's Spawn ) is an American horror film from 2011 . Directed by Eric Weston , who also wrote the script for the film. Christa Campbell as Wilda , Costas Mandylor Gannon and Rudolf Martin as Sheriff Manfred can be seen in the leading roles . The film is a direct-to-DVD production .

Gannon's wife Ria is murdered and his child is kidnapped by two hyena-like figures. The police suspect the killer is a serial killer. Crazy Briggs can convince Gannon of the werewolf theory in the form of hyenas. Then they team up with other hunters to put the hyenas down. The hyenas, creatures responsible for the werewolf myth in folklore, are now hunted for revenge for the murder of Briggs and Gannon. The hunters themselves become the hunted, as the shapeshifters have a great influence on the cities.

The version for the US market is 92 minutes long. In Germany, the FSK-18 version has a running time of just 88 minutes.
