Maria Bertrand

Maria Bertrand (born August 29, 1975 in Montreal , Quebec ) is a Canadian actress .

Life

Maria Bertrand was born in Montreal and grew up there. Her mother and sister were born in British Guiana but moved to Montreal before Maria Bertrand was born.

She had her first appearance in the television film 36 Hours Until Death in 1999. In this she played the supporting role Carmen on the side of Kim Cattrall . In George Clooney's directorial debut Confessions of a Dangerous Mind , a film based on the memoirs of the American show master Chuck Barris , she was given a role as a bachelorette. Barris went down in the annals of show business as the inventor of the infamous gong show and also the inventor of the show The Dating Game , which was broadcast as Herzblatt in German-speaking countries . Next to Lauren Holly and Costas Mandylor , she starred in the TV romance comedy Love for Dessert as Angela in front of the camera.

In 2005, Bertrand had a guest appearance on the crime series Navy CIS . In 2009 she appeared in the short films A French Kiss as Sheila and in Soft Touch as Jenaia . In 2011 she got the role of Ria Gannon , wife of Costas Mandylor's character, in the American horror film Hyenas . The film was released as a direct-to-DVD production .
