Meshach Taylor (born April 11, 1947 in Boston , Massachusetts - † June 28, 2014 in Altadena , California ) was an American actor .

life and career

Taylor's parents were both professors. He graduated from Florida A&M University in 1993.

Meshach Taylor received a Joseph Jefferson Award in 1977 for his performance in Sizwe Banzi is Dead at the Goodman Stage II Theater in Chicago , Illinois . For the same award he received a nomination in 1979 for the play Native Son at the same theater.

Taylor had been married to Bianca Ferguson since 1983 and had three children with her. In addition, another child comes from a previous relationship. He died of complications from cancer.
