Altadena is a sub-area of Los Angeles County in the US state of California . It is not a separate administrative entity and is administered by Los Angeles County. Altadena has about 44,400 inhabitants (as of 2004) on an area of 22.5 km². It is located at the geographic coordinates 34.19 ° North, 118.13 ° West and borders the city of Pasadena in the south .
