Erich Arendt (engineer)

Erich Arendt (born October 30, 1880 in Königsberg in Prussia , † after 1937 ) was a German mechanical engineer and manager .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1899, Erich Arendt studied at the Technical University (Berlin-) Charlottenburg , where he passed the main diploma examination in 1904. He then worked as a scientific assistant to Professors Alois Riedler and Johannes Stumpf until 1906 , and later as an engineer at Siegener Maschinenbau AG . In 1908 he moved to Ehrhardt & Schmer AG , where he worked as a senior engineer for gas machine construction until 1919. This was followed by his appointment as director and board member of this stock corporation, with which he remained until 1925. In 1926 he became director and board member of the Sulzer Brothers AG in Ludwigshafen .

In 1932 he joined the board of directors of Deutsche Solvay-Werke AG in Bernburg , where he was one of three board members alongside Ernst Eilsberger and Karl Hornung .

He was a member of the Association of German Engineers and the Shipbuilding Society .

Erich Arendt married Marguérite-Renée Picart. A son emerged from the marriage.
