Erich Bochinger

Erich Bochinger (born October 19, 1928 in Dornstetten ; † November 21, 2016 in Reutlingen ) was a German Protestant theologian and religious educator .

Live and act

After attending school in Ludwigsburg (1935–1946), interrupted by his work as an air force helper in World War II from 1944 to 1945, Erich Bochinger studied Protestant theology at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen from the winter semester of 1947/48 , and spent one semester at Georg -August University of Göttingen . He passed his first theological service examination in 1951. After the vicariate for the Württemberg parish ministry in Klosterreichenbach , Schmiden , Höfingen (Leonberg district) and Wildbad , the second theological examination took place in 1954. In the same year he became a research assistant at the Protestant theological faculty of the University of Tübingen (preacher's institute). In 1958 he received his doctorate as Dr. theol. ("The clarity of religious education as a pedagogical and theological problem") and became a theological lecturer at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education . In 1965 he was appointed professor of religious education at the Ludwigsburg University of Education and retired in 1987 when the PH was dissolved by the Baden-Württemberg state government. Bochinger died on November 21, 2016 in Reutlingen .

Bochinger emerged through numerous publications in the field of religious education and Protestant religious instruction. He also became known through many lectures and Bible studies in church communities. He is one of the co-founders of the Free Evangelical School Reutlingen, which was established in 1973 .
