Erich Hampel

Erich Hampel (born February 25, 1951 in Vienna ) is an Austrian bank manager . From November 2, 2011 to November 2018, he was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of UniCredit Bank Austria AG . Until September 30, 2009 he was Chairman of the Management Board of UniCredit Bank Austria AG and from October 1, 2009 to November 1, 2011, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the same.

Life

Erich Hampel studied commercial science at the University for World Trade and received his doctorate in social and economic sciences in 1975. His professional career began at Citibank Austria AG. He then moved to the PSK group, which he headed as governor from 1996.

In 1997 he took over the position of CEO of Creditanstalt . Hampel has been a member of the Board of Management of Bank Austria since November 2000; he was responsible for the CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) business area - and then for risk management . In January 2004 he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Management of Bank Austria Creditanstalt AG. Since 2005, Hampel has also been Head of the CEE Division of the UniCredit Group .

From June 11th to 14th, 2015 he took part in the 63rd Bilderberg Conference in Telfs-Buchen , Austria .

Erich Hampel is married and has two children.
