Erich Haussmann

Erich Haußmann (born July 13, 1900 in Ulm ; † September 9, 1984 ) was a German actor.

Life

Haussmann was drafted into military service in 1918. He then refused both training as a farmer and a commercial apprenticeship. Against his father's will, Haußmann reported to the Ulm City Theater for an audition and was accepted. From Ulm he went to Berlin via Dresden and Zwickau .

In 1933 Haussmann came to film. He became known three years later with the film Through the Desert . During the war he starred in the war film Thirteen Men and a Cannon . After the end of the Second World War, Haußmann continued working as an actor and became a member of the Berliner Ensemble in 1962 . He also played in GDR television films.

Haußmann was married to the artist Ruth Wenger , divorced Hesse , who was three years older than him , and is the father of Ezard and the grandfather of Leander Haußmann .
