Erich Hoffmann

Erich Hoffmann (born June 10, 1910 in Kaiserslautern , † July 15, 1967 in Munich ) was a German freelance artist in the field of monumental and architectural sculpture.

Life

After the journeyman's examination in stone sculpture, Erich Hoffmann moved to Munich in 1932 and studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich , where he was a master student of Joseph Wackerle until 1939 . Among other things, he was involved in the execution of the Neptune Fountain (Munich) . After a serious wound in World War II , Erich Hoffmann returned to Munich in 1948, where he worked as a freelance sculptor from 1950. His grave is in the Munich North Cemetery .
