Erich Hoyer (Mayor)

Erich Hoyer († April 2, 1597 in Bremen ) was a Bremen councilor and mayor .

biography

Hoyer was the son of Mayor Diedrich Hoyer the Elder . He studied law and received his doctorate Dr. jur. His father moved into Blomendal Castle as a tenant in 1542 . The family stayed in the house.
He was Bremen's councilor from 1562 and also Bremen's mayor in 1562 . He acquired the Hodenberg estate in Bremen- Oberneuland . During his tenure in 1580 he rode the Lutheran Archbishop of Bremen Heinrich III. at the homage collection to Oslebshausen .

He was married to Metje Hoyer geb. Stenouen. His son was Mayor Diedrich Hoyer the Younger .
