Diedrich Hoyer the Younger
Diedrich Hoyer the Younger (born July 6, 1568 in Bremen ; † October 29, 1623 ibid) was a Bremen councilor and mayor .
biography
Hoyer was the son of Mayor Dr. jur. Erich Hoyer and Metje Hoyer. His grandfather, Mayor Diedrich Hoyer the Elder , moved in as a tenant in Blomendal Castle in 1542 . The family stayed in the house.
Diedrich Hoyer the Younger worked as a merchant in Bremen. He was since 1597 Bremer councilor in 1608 and since March 10 mayor of Bremen . In 1609 he acquired the Hodenberg estate in Bremen- Oberneuland and had a manor house built on it. He was then the builder of the first Oberneuland windmill .
During his tenure, the Bremen town hall received its renaissance facades from 1608 to 1612 according to plans by Lüder von Bentheim . From 1609 to 1623 he was also a church visitator in the Bremen office of Bederkesa .
He was married to Lucia Meyer.
