Erich Kolb (born November 19, 1938 in Heidenheim - Schnaitheim ) is a former German handball player .

Career

Erich Kolb started playing handball at TSG Schnaitheim when he was seven. In 1961 the engraver went to the Gruner printing company in Itzehoe and from then on played for MTV Itzehoe, with which he became Schleswig-Holstein national champion in 1964. In 1965 Kolb left Itzehoe and joined TSV Birkenau , where he played until he switched to TV Großwallstadt in 1967. His greatest success with the TVG was the runner-up in the 1970/71 season .

In 1964 Kolb took part with the German national team in the handball world championship in Czechoslovakia , where the team took fourth place. In 1966 he won the last field handball world championship with the national team . For his sporting success he was honored with the silver bay leaf .

After the end of his playing career, Erich Kolb worked as a coach in Pfungstadt , Mainaschaff and Haibach .
