Erich Port

Erich Port (born December 11, 1891 in Kleinreinsdorf ; † May 13, 1964 in Zwickau ) was a German politician ( ThLB ). He was State Councilor for the Reuss Princely House in the state government of the Free State of Thuringia .

Life

Port, son of a farmer and landowner, was later a farmer himself in Kleinreinsdorf. He was a member of the Thuringian Land Association (ThLB). From June 20, 1920 to July 30, 1921 he was a member of the Thuringian state parliament . On February 21, 1924 he was appointed State Councilor for Reuss. He held this office until his resignation on April 21, 1931 because of his intended move to Saxony . After his farm went bankrupt in 1933, he withdrew from politics and moved to Weißbach near Zwickau. There he temporarily worked as a representative for a soap company.
