Erich Potthoff

Erich Potthoff (born January 10, 1914 in Cologne ; † May 2, 2005 in Meerbusch ) was an economist and university lecturer, auditor and member of the state parliament.

After completing a commercial apprenticeship in 1934 and 1935, Potthoff worked as a commercial clerk. He then studied business administration and economics in Cologne. In 1939 he graduated with a degree in business administration. Potthoff then obtained his doctorate in 1941. rer. pole. Between 1937 and 1940 he worked as a research assistant to Eugen Schmalenbach . Subsequently, until 1946, he was authorized representative and authorized signatory of the Hartkopf + Rentrop Treuhand KG founded by Schmalenbach .

Since 1963 he was also an honorary professor at the University of Cologne .
