Erich Schönewolf
Erich Schönewolf (born August 23, 1905 in Harpen ; † August 22, 1990 ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).
Life and work
Schönewolf was born in Harpen near Bochum . His parents moved to neighboring Herne a short time later. After attending elementary school and folk high school , he became a miner. From 1925 to 1932 employee in the youth group of IG Bergbau and until 1933 member of the communal youth care committee in Hernes. From 1932 to 1935 he was unemployed as a metal worker, and until 1944 he continued to work underground as an SPDist. Drafted in 1944, he resumed his active work in the party in 1945. Since then he has been the managing director of the SPD in the city of Herne . Also active as a trade unionist as a member of the ÖTV . From October 17, 1948 to 1954, city councilor in Herne.
Political party
Since 1920 a member of the Socialist Workers' Youth , he became an active member of the SPD in 1925. From 1928 member of the sub-district executive committee in Herne and member of the executive committee of the SPD Western Westphalia.
MP
Schönewolf was elected from July 13, 1954 to July 25, 1970 as a directly elected member of the 3rd to 6th North Rhine-Westphalian Landtag .
