Erich Spindelegger

Erich Spindelegger (born June 19, 1919 in Hinterbrühl , Lower Austria ; † August 11, 2014 there ) was an official of the Austrian Federal Railways and an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

Erich Spindelegger graduated from the HTL Mödling in 1938 after attending the elementary school in Hinterbrühl and the lower level of the grammar school in Mödling . Professionally he worked for the Austrian Federal Railways , among other things in the train conveyance line Vienna-West, most recently as Federal Railway Chief Inspector.

Spindelegger was a member of the National Council in the XI. Legislative period 1966 to 1970. From 1970 to 1976 he was a member of the Federal Council .

At the same time, he was mayor of Hinterbrühl for several terms and held several positions in the ÖAAB . Due to his many years of activity in the senior citizens 'association of the ÖVP, he also became honorary chairman of the Lower Austrian senior citizens' association.

Private

He was the father of four children; his youngest son is Michael Spindelegger .
